Ahmad Ata with the literary name of Ahmad Mahmoud (December 26, 1931, Ahvaz - October 4, 2002, Tehran) was a contemporary Iranian writer. He is considered a follower of the school of social realism. His most famous novel, Neighbors, is considered one of the outstanding works of contemporary Iranian literature.
