Persian literature dates back to the fifth Century BC; making one of the oldest cradles for literature among ancient civilization. Until today, many Persians have proven to be a valuable addition to literature, not only nationally but on an international scale. Our aim through Persian Literature Awards is to commemorate the tens centuries old Persian literature through honoring outstanding Persian fictionists, non-fictionists, poets, children writers as well as emerging Persian literary voices.
The People’s Awards
The Persian Literature Awards Top Five Nominees will be invited to the Awards Ceremony held by the Persian Academy Awards Organization at the end of each year. The nominee who wins the highest percentage of public votes within each subcategory of the Literature Awards will be the one winning the Academy Award for that subcategory. What makes this event ceremony special is that the winner is selected by millions of the Persian people, no matter where they are around the world, which guarantees that these awards truly represent the taste of the Persian public.
The Professional Awards
To add more flavor to the Persian Literature Awards, the Persian Academy Awards Organization is currently planning to add a new type of awards, professional awards, to be granted alongside the people’s awards starting the second year.
Professionals already working in the Literature industry will be invited to join the Persian Academy Awards Organization as Persian Academy Members. Following, the Members shall engage in voting process for nominees in the Literature Award Category to select the nominee who will win the professional award for each subcategory.
The professional awards, therefore, represent the professional viewpoint in the nominated writers and authors, which is complementary to the people’s viewpoint in assessing the nominees. Moreover, the number of judges for each subcategory is expected to range from at least 100 Academy Members to around 2000 Members. Consequently, the award results will represent the most accurate and real selection of winner in each award subcategory.
Who is eligible for nomination?Any writer, author or poet who is actively involved in any of our awards subcategories in the Persian Literature industry is eligible as a nominee of Persian Literature Awards.
Authors or poets with active work on the year of nominations automatically become identified and nominated as eligible for receiving the Award in their respective subcategory and can start receiving public votes to support their nomination.
Nominees listed on Persian Awards will be given access to updating and editing their information as it appears on Persian Awards to make sure site users know more about the nominees from the nominees themselves. We encourage celebrities and nominees of Persian Awards, their agents or affiliates to contact Persian Awards to be granted access to updating and editing their information on this website.
Each user gets to vote only once, for one nominee, in each of the subcategories of the Literature Awards for the total period of the Awards’ year. By the end of the voting, the five nominees with the highest percentages of votes will be announced and invited to attend the live Awards Ceremony in which the nominee with the highest share of votes will be granted the Persian Literature Award.
We also encourage users to contact Persian Awards if a certain writer is eligible for nomination and does not appear on our nominees’ lists. Upon contacting us, our technical department will list this nominee on Persian Literature Awards section soon.
